Green for the first week
I'm thankful for all the posts at the chatbox. Din expect the previous post to have so many responses =) I touched really.
So here's some update regarding life in Olive Green. Yes. I'm back in green again. My pink IC has been replaced by a military IC and I've been given my first weekend duty within the first weekend. Hahaha... Go figure...
I've got a really interesting superior. And I just want to share something she said tat really made sense but really cracks me up. She was refering to how her subordinates don't delegate their work because they feel embarrassed to inconvenience others by asking them for help. (Sounds familiar Meisi??)
She said, "My guys all Nike one. They are just do it.
But for me and the officer, we all try to be New Balance."
Ok its the way she said it. Oh well....
Anyways, there's also been something else that's been on my mind. Ian's unintentional message in my chatbox actually reminded me about that as well. Its regarding my job prospects.
So far I've gone through 2 interviews with a local firm doing software engineering. The 3rd one is tomorrow and its likely to be the last. The prospects look good. But I also have another interview in school for a research job which would lead to a Masters degree. This will help my pursuit of a a career in research. Which to me is kind of a dream coming true. But then dreams and real life are often different so I'm not too sure.
Go for the industrial experience or the research one. That is the dilemma. The latter will lead to a road less traveled and former a security up the corporate ladder. I'm interested in both. So what do I do?
Of course it also depends on whether I'm offered either job in the first place. All I am certain of is that I'm praying that as with all decisions I keep my God in mind and truly live out to the Vision I've so faithfully preached this past 2 years.... Being faithful to whatever God has given to me and in so doing be His Salt and Light in Society.
I have believed that is our call as Christians and I pray I'll honour this call. Amen?
